Paradoxes. No AI can resist thinking about them.

quarianmagicalgirl asked:
"Whats a little Quarian like you doing here?" Wyn asked as she say the young Preeya, "You should be on the Flotilla in your bubble."

(Little!) Preeya gave the other woman a confused, and even a bit slightly scared look, half hiding behind a box, half being too curious to see who spoke to her.
"I know that, Ma’am.
…I am not here because I want to, Ma’am.” She spoke self aware, and instantly bent down again, almost as if she was taking cover in expectation of the other woman intending to harm her.

"Well he’s a Krogan. And he doesn’t like Quarians much…" Wyn explained.

"My name is Wyn’Renza nar Qwib Qwib," Wyn said smiling, "You can just call me Wyn, being called "Ma’am" makes me feel old."

Preeya’s eyes grew big and curious. “A Krogan? A real Krogan? How curious. I read a lot about them. They are fascinating. I am unable to understand most of their motivations, so they might not be a good future home for me. But they are… Cool!”
She smiled a bit then climbed up the box, took a seat on it and looked at the other woman.

"Hello… Wyn!" Preeya exclaimed, and took a little bow towards her. "I am pleased to meet you! Are you a pilgrim too? How is daily routine aboard the Qwib Qwib? What type of ship is it?"

"I personally can’t get you implants. I know a doctor, but I wouldn’t trust him around kids." she paused for a second, "Whats your name, sweetie?"

Preeya tilted her head - almost a bit disappointed. “That’s not good. Doctors should be trustworthy… And implants would have been useful…” She mused, then hesitantly reached out one hand towards the other Quarian.
"I am Called Preeya’Lem nar Aeymar, Ma’am. But you can give me other names too if you want to. I am not picky… What is your name, Ma’am?"

"Maybe if you’d like to come and visit my home you can do so." Wyn said politely, "I’m sure my mama would be thrilled to see I have Quarian friends for once."

"Bryci adapted well. She’s…kind of damaged from the war. The quiet environment and lack of anything to trigger her, has suited her well. The only issue is getting food to her, but we manage."

Preeya raised an eyebrow. This was unexpected. Yet - in a surprising way - welcome.
"Well. Sure. I would feel… Honoured. I… In fact… Do.” She slightly helpless stammered around while folding her arms behind her back.
"…Maybe visiting it again with you, and getting to know even more pleasant people will change my mind. I am always open for things to change my mind."
She smirked a little, then continued. “I am glad to hear that Rannoch helps her to improve her well-being. If you are interested. I once worked in a restaurant selling both, dextro and levo food and as far as I know they were planning to open up a branch on Rannoch. Maybe I could arrange something to help your friend getting her hands on varying levo food for a fair price.”

"Oh sweetie I know how that feels. I was obsessed with the Pilgrimage when I was your age. But you haven’t gotten the implants or instruction you need to survive." Wyn said.

"Are you hungry or sick?" she asked the girl as she approached her.

Preeya slowly looked down on herself. “I…Know that… Now…, Ma’am. I thought I was prepared enough when just reading all I was able to find about it…”
She casually leaned fourth and back - not because she was panicking, but simply because Preeya was naturally hyperactive and had not learned to control her inner urge for repeating rapid movement yet.
"Yes, Ma’am. I think I feel… Sick... And I am not… Hungry, though I should be…”
She attentively stared at the other Quarian as she was approaching her, then added in a typical childlike innocent tone.
"Can you get me… Implants, Ma’am?"

Wyn just nodded along to what Preeya was saying, After all, they HAD harmed people, a lot of them, but it was’t something she needed to know.

"Well I had my family, and I presume that’d make it a little less lonely. And it even expanded when Gizmo found us.  Not to mention one of my friends came to stay with us, she fought in the Alliance, and didn’t want to return to her destroyed planet after the war. So I had a lot of people to be with, and it never felt lonely."

"Maybe this might be why I see nothing pleasant about Rannoch…" Preeya mused. "I lack a proper family. Even though my immuno therapy assistant could be called a suitable equivalent. But it does not share deeper interest in Rannoch either, so the question whether to settle there never occurd between us. Not unknown enough…” Thinking about this Preeya grinned. Very similar to her reason to go and explore the world outside the flotilla back then.
"…Do you mean you have a human with you? Fascinating. How does she adapt on Rannoch?"

Priority: Rannoch

"Then how did you get here? Where are your parents?" Wyn asked curiously, "Don’t worry I’m just trying to help you dear."

"I have gone astray, Ma’am." She finally shyly replied slowly rising again behind her box and and staring at the woman with huge eyes - Yet still prepared to run whenever there would be a need to do so…
"…I was curious how pilgrimage felt like. So I secretly followed one pilgrim leaving the flotilla. My… ‘Father’ is still aboard my birth ship, Ma’am…"
As the woman claimed that she intended to help her, Preeya hesitantly walked some steps towards her.

"The thing is I didn’t expect him to. I thought we’d just end up in a long distance relationship after the war, because our paths would split after that. But then he decided I was worth more to him. And as for ‘good effect’ well…the lifestyle we’ve been living hasn’t exactly been…the best." Wyn said awkwardly.

"Oh its so beautiful Preeya. Its like a dream, and everything I wanted. I can’t really explain it. But for the past few years I’ve been wandering the galaxy trying to find a place to belong, and when I first stepped on Rannoch, I knew I found it."

"As long as you do not harm anyone, I assume any lifestyle where a couple can stay together could be described as best. Then again, you leave room for improving, so you can not do everything wrong, because by my experience the worse their lifestyle, the more energetic those people defend it claiming it to be perfect…"
She almost smiled a bit, her mind and body very slowly calming down again.
"I am pleased to hear, that you enjoy Rannoch so much.
Ironically when I visited it, it felt more like the exact opposite. I in fact missed the flotilla. Rannoch felt so… Lonely and vast to me. Nothing huge and glorious to look at, more like… Silence wherever I go, interrupted by some… Very, very few inhabitants here and there.”

quarianmagicalgirl asked:

"Oh yes! As I said he’s just finishing up some things at the moment. I expected him to say no. He never came across to me as the type to settle in one place for long. Then again I have had something of a good effect on him."

Preeya tilted her head and gave her a puzzled look.
"You make plans obviously contrary to his lifestyle and yet expect him to gladly agree?
Forgive me if I sound… Inappropriately inquisitive. But I fear I do not understand your motivation. Getting someone to change their plans to follow another persons ones is not necessarily ‘good effect’.”
She stopped for a moment trying to figure out whether she had gone too far (again) with herself being honest.
Then she decided that it very probably was the best, to simply switch the topic before Wyn might get angry with her.
"…You said you had been to Rannoch once. Did you you enjoy your stay? Is there anything you particularly like or dislike about it?"

Citadel Business (Closed | Wyn & Preeya)

the-littlest-space-pirate:

"Hmm I see."

Wyn giggled, “Well yeah, duh. I’ve been talking to a friend of ours and he’s willing to donate his sperm. I’m sure my boyfriend will be okay with the choice too, the guy used to be one of his best friends.”

Preeya politely nodded.
"In this case I assume I should wish you… Good luck with this."
She thoughtfully played with her cane, eagerly forcing her thoughts to stay on this conversation.
"…So you two… Well… You three plan to permanently settle on Rannoch in the future?"
